Ford has confirmed a $1.1 billion investment for the production of the Transit van in Kansas City. Ford plans on using their investment for facility upgrades and tooling for both the Transit van and the F-150 pickup for the arrival in 2013. The total is 700 million dollars more than originally anticipated, Ford says the extra money will be used for paint and body shops as well as integrated stamping plant; they will also be able to increase F-150 production. Come check the Nissan NV commercial van at your Seattle Nissan NV dealer. Previously the naming system of the Transit was thought to be similar to that of the F-series, but in press release Ford refers to it as Transit. We will have to wait and see.
