Ford has announced a recall of thousands of 2011 and 2012 model year F-Series pickups due to what the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is calling a transmission problem that “fails to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard number 114, theft protection.” NHTSA reports that the trucks can be shifted out of park without applying pressure on the brake due to a a problem with the brake shift interlock switch. Come check out the comparable Nissan Titan pickup at your 2012 Seattle Nissan Titan dealer. Vehicles included in the recall are: 2011 F-150 s built between September 9 and September 22, 2011, as well as F-250, F-350, F-450 and F-550 Heavy Duty trucks built between September 12 and September 22, 2011, which comes to a total of 16,091 trucks. As usual Ford will check, and replace if necessary any defective parts free of charge.
