The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is recalling 2007-2008 Hyundai Santa Fe and Veracruz crossovers. In 178,685 Santa Fe and 26,548 Veracruz crossovers some airbags may not deploy in the event of an accident. The clock spring contact assembly for the driver’s airbag may become damaged over time according to the NHTSA. NHTSA continues to say: “The driver’s airbag electrical circuit will experience a high resistance condition, potentially causing the driver’s airbag to not deploy.”
The recall will start next month and dealers will replace parts as necessary at no cost.
